Code for Ukraine Program

Code for Ukraine is an educational program for Ukrainian students aged 14–17, adapted from Code.X’s flagship global innovation program. It equips students from war-affected and underserved communities with essential skills in computer science, human-centered design, teamwork, and problem-solving.

The program brings together instructors connected to top universities in the United States and international technology leaders, creating an immersive learning experience where students develop real-world solutions to challenges facing their communities.

Code for Ukraine is hosted at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv, where students participate in an intensive in-person learning experience alongside year-round mentorship and project development.

Our Process

Program Model

Code for Ukraine is based on the proven Code.X educational model, which has successfully delivered innovation and coding programs for students around the world.

The program combines:

  • Computer science and programming

  • Human-centered design

  • Team-based problem solving

  • Entrepreneurial thinking

  • Community impact projects

Students work in teams to identify real challenges within their communities and design solutions using technology and creative problem-solving frameworks.

Our Approach

Ukraine’s youth have experienced unprecedented disruption due to the war. Many students have faced displacement, educational interruptions, and social isolation.

Code for Ukraine was created to respond to these challenges by providing:

  • Opportunities for teamwork and collaboration

  • A supportive learning environment where students can build confidence and resilience
